The world of college recruiting never stops, and for Wisconsin Badgers fans, staying on top of every update can be a full-time job. To make it easier, we've got the latest news on both the football and basketball recruiting fronts, all in one place.

We are nearing the end of the dead period of Wisconsin football, but like I said, there’s still always something going on in the recruiting world, even in the ‘dead’ period.

2026 QB commit Ryan Hopkins receives offer from UCLA

The Badgers’ lone quarterback commit of the 2026 class announced on X that he received an offer from UCLA. So what? A lot of kids announce offers they receive even after they’ve committed to another school.

Well, Hopkins is currently the quarterback back for one of the premier high school football programs in the country: Mater Dei.

The Monarchs have won two national titles in a row, and Hopkins hopes to lead them to their third this season.

Mater Dei also happens to be in California and is less than an hour’s drive to the UCLA campus. Since the Bruins are practically in his backyard, Hopkins will be able to visit more frequently. Plus, there’s the natural pull of playing near home for your in-state school.
