Wisconsin OL Jake Renfro to hit the transfer portal
Wisconsin's starting center Jake Renfro will enter the transfer portal after being granted one more year of eligibility.

Graduate student Jake Renfro has been in college football for six seasons already, but with COVID and his injury history, he has only played three full seasons. Assuming he is granted another year of eligibility, Renfro will have one last year to play college football, but it won’t be with the Wisconsin Badgers.
Renfro plans to hit the transfer portal when it opens on January 2nd and will spend his last year of college football elsewhere.
This news comes on the heels of the coaching change at offensive line when the Badgers relieved AJ Blazek of his duties after holding the position for the past two seasons. The Badgers hired Eric Mateos, the former offensive line coach for the Arkansas Razorbacks, who has a history with Wisconsin offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes.
Renfro followed Luke Fickell to Wisconsin from Cincinnati, so I’m not so sure the firing of Blazek has anything to do with Renfro’s decision to transfer.
In three seasons with the Badgers, Renfro played in just 17 games, including four this past season.
