Heading into the 2026 season, all signs point toward Tyrell Henry claiming that vital duty for the Wisconsin Badgers.
Henry’s path in Madison has required supreme patience. After transferring from Michigan State ahead of the 2024 campaign, the 6-foot, 180-pound playmaker redshirted during his first year in town before serving as a secondary rotation option and primary punt returner in 2025. Trailing veterans in the slot rotation, Henry took five catches for 29 yards and a touchdown last fall while adding nine carries on jet-sweep concepts.
Now entering his fifth-year senior season, Henry’s patience is poised to pay off in a big way. Throughout spring practice, offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes and new wide receivers coach Ari Confesor singled out Henry as one of the most improved route-runners and respected leaders on the roster.
More importantly, Henry built an immediate, rhythm-based rapport with starting quarterback Colton Joseph. With a vacant slot starting role calling his name, Henry is positioned for the highest target volume of his college career.
