Wisconsin football lands commitment from 4-star WR Jayden Petit
Huge win for Wisconsin football! 4-star WR Jayden Petit commits to the 2026 class, significantly boosting the Badgers' national recruiting ranking.

The Wisconsin football team landed a huge addition to its 2026 recruiting class. Four-star wide receiver Jayden Petit (Naples, FL) gave his verbal pledge to the Badgers, giving them a big boost on the recruiting trail.
Petit committed to the Badgers over a handful of Power 4 programs like Oklahoma, Missouri, North Carolina, among many others. He now joins a class that includes receivers Tayshon Bardo and Zion Legree.
Petit announced his commitment on his social media.
On 247Sports, Petit is a four-star prospect. He is the 203rd-overall prospect in the country and the 30th wide receiver. On3, another big recruiting site, has the Florida native ranked very closely. They have Petit ranked 206th nationally and 33rd at his position.
Petit’s pledge immediately puts him at the top of Wisconsin’s 2026 class and pushes the Badgers from 52nd to the 43rd-ranked class in the country, according to the 247Sports Class Rankings at the time of his commitment.
What Does Petit Bring to the Program?
Petit immediately provides a different type of receiver to the class. Neither Bardo (6-0) nor Legree (5-11) brings a ton of height to the position. Petit (6-4, 195 lbs) is a big-framed receiver who will give the Badgers a nice perimeter target in the future.
Here is a scouting report on Petit from 247Sports Director of Scouting, Andrew Ivins:
Big-framed wide receiver that can win on the perimeter with his suddenness, coordination and bounce. Has produced on varsity since his freshman year and impressed in a best-on-best setting at Under Armour’s Future 50 camp summer before junior season. Attacks leverage with his initial burst and does an admirable job of sinking his hips at the top of routes to break off defensive backs before driving back towards the football. Likes to mix speeds as he works his way up or across the field. Spirited after the catch as he has flashed the ability to make the first defender miss while facing a lower level of competition in the Sunshine State and will put the effort in as a move blocker on the outside. Already pushing 200 pounds, but doesn’t appear to be maxed out and could undergo a further physical maturation once he’s done with basketball. Might not be the fastest target and must keep perfecting his craft, but has the size, athleticism and ball skills to emerge as a trusted option at the Power Four level in a balanced offense that relies on timing.

Wisconsin’s Wide Receiver Room is Trending Up
The Badgers have added some really solid players at the receiver position in the last two cycles.
Eugene Hilton Jr., the lone receiver in the 2025 class, has already shown some flashes during spring practices as an early enrollee. The program also added Jayden Ballard (Ohio State) and Dekel Crowdus (Hawaii) via the transfer portal.
Wide receivers coach Jordan Reid has been a really nice addition to the Wisconsin football coaching staff. He has been instrumental in bringing in all three receivers in this class, which is shaping up to be another solid group by Luke Fickell and company.
It’s another solid addition for the Badgers, but they aren’t done yet. Stick around Badger Backer for more recruiting updates and news in the near future!
