Eventful day changes the outlook of the Badgers' 2026 class
We are less than 24 hours from the early signing period the Badgers' 2026 class continues to change.
Yesterday, things were looking a lot different for the Wisconsin Badgers and their 2026 class. In the landscape of college football, things can change at the drop of a hat, and that’s what we are seeing with the early signing period less than 24 hours away.
At this time tomorrow, things could look how we expect or completely different. That’s the beauty and chaos of college football these days.
Here’s everything that’s happened in the past 24 hours or so, and what could still change in the next day.
Wisconsin loses transfer portal commit
Just three days ago, the Badgers landed a commitment from the top defensive lineman in the transfer portal. Jibriel Conde, a transfer from Division II Grand Valley State, gave the Badgers their first player out of the transfer portal.
Conde, who still has two years of eligibility remaining, was a great start for the Badgers in their efforts to bulk up the defensive line that was losing multiple players heading into 2026.
Then, last night, Conde flipped his commitment from Wisconsin to Kansas.
Conde’s decommitment from the Badgers leaves them with one incoming player from the transfer portal, linebacker Taylor Schaefer, from Iowa Central, a junior college.
Wisconsin still has Djidjou Bah, Yahya Gaad, and Arthur Scott as incoming defensive linemen in the 2026 class.
The Badgers find a replacement at WR, flipping an SEC commit
After losing Jayden Petit, the Badgers were down to just one wide receiver in the class. With things up in the air with Petit, the Wisconsin staff clearly had some contingency plans so they wouldn’t be caught with their pants around their ankles.
