Badgers Land Commitment from 2027 4-Star OL Cole Reiter
The Badgers land their 5th commit in the 2027 class with the addition of four-star offensive lineman Cole Reiter.
Luke Fickell and the Wisconsin Badgers just secured the biggest piece of the 2027 puzzle.
Cole Reiter, the standout offensive tackle from Germantown, has officially announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin. At 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds, Reiter isn’t just a “big get”—he is a top 20 offensive tackle in the country and the kind of foundational tackle that top programs are built upon.
By choosing Madison over an elite list of programs, Reiter is sending a clear message: the best in Wisconsin, stay in Wisconsin.

The Scouting Report: A Pro-Ready Frame
Reiter is a massive human being, but he’s far from just a “space-eater.” When you watch his film at Germantown, you see a player who is already technically advanced for his age:
Elite Length: His wingspan allows him to initiate contact before defenders can get into his chest. In pass protection, he shows a rare ability to anchor and reset his hands.
The “Mean Streak”: He plays with the aggressive edge that Coach Eric Mateos demands. Whether he’s climbing to the second level or washing out a defensive end, Reiter consistently finishes blocks through the whistle.
The Germantown Connection: He will eventually join his former high school teammate, linebacker Cooper Catalano, in Madison. That chemistry and familiarity only help solidify the culture Fickell is building.
Fickell’s In-State Statement
While Reiter is the star of the show today, his commitment highlights a broader, massive trend for this staff. Luke Fickell and his assistants are proving the doubters wrong about their ability to recruit and retain in-state players.
The 2027 class in Wisconsin is absolutely loaded with high-level talent, and the Badgers are killing it in that arena. According to 247Sports, there are currently 12 players in the state with a 3-star rating or higher. The current landscape is staggering: eight of the top 10 players in the state are either already committed to the Badgers or are heavily favored to land in Madison.
By locking down a pillar like Reiter this early, the staff has ensured that the “In-State Wall” isn’t just a tradition—it’s a current reality.
As a guy who just likes to write and talk about the Badgers, I truly appreciate you subscribing! Knowing that you value what I have to say means the world to me. Thanks for making this possible.
